Like we talked about in class, phrasal verbs require constant attention and repetition. When you come across (encounter) a new one, be sure to write it down and practice using it later.
There are a lot of useful resources on the internet to help you build your phrasal verb vocabulary. Check out this one to get an idea of what's out there.
Also, when you are watching English or American TV shows or movies (as you should be!), listen for phrasals as they arise:
